Intasc alignment chart
Welcome to the InTASC Alignment Chart page. This chart is designed to align with the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) standards, providing a valuable resource for educators.
Standard #1: Learner Development
I prioritize understanding how each learner grows academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. I pay close attention to how students develop at different paces and in different ways, and I design learning experiences that match where they are. I adapt instruction so every student receives support and challenge that fits their developmental needs.
Standard #2: Learning Differences
I actively learn about my students’ backgrounds, cultures, learning styles, and individual needs so that I can teach them more effectively. I use this understanding to create an inclusive learning environment where students feel respected and capable. I intentionally select materials, strategies, and technology that speak to diverse learners and allow each student to access high expectations.
Standard #3: Learning Environments
I create a classroom climate that supports both individual and collaborative learning. I establish routines and structures that help students feel safe, motivated, and engaged. I encourage positive interaction, guide students in working together respectfully, and use strategies that keep learning active, hands-on, and student-centered.
Standard #4: Content Knowledge
I maintain a strong understanding of the subjects I teach and communicate content in clear, meaningful ways. I connect concepts to real-world examples, use visuals and explanations that make the material accessible, and structure lessons so students understand not just the “what,” but the “why” behind the content.
Standard #5: Application of Content
I help students apply what they learn to real-life situations and deeper questions. I incorporate discussions, problem-solving tasks, multiple perspectives, and collaborative thinking into my instruction so students can practice critical thinking and creativity. I connect lessons to local and global issues so learning feels relevant and purposeful.
Standard #6: Assessment
I use a variety of assessments to monitor student progress and guide my instruction. I include quick checks for understanding, ongoing formative assessments, classwork, and summative assessments to see where students are in their learning. I also provide opportunities for students to reflect on their growth so they become active participants in their own learning.
Standard #7: Planning for Instruction
I plan instruction by considering content, curriculum standards, student needs, and the classroom community. I design lessons that are rigorous, meaningful, and engaging, and I intentionally include supports for different learners. My planning is thoughtful and detailed so every student has a real opportunity to meet high expectations.
Standard #8: Instructional Strategies
I use a range of instructional strategies to help students understand content deeply. I blend direct instruction, discussions, group activities, hands-on tasks, and technology to reach different learners. When a strategy does not fully support student understanding, I adjust and incorporate additional methods to help students engage with the material meaningfully.
Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice
I consistently reflect on my teaching and seek out ways to grow professionally. I evaluate the impact of my choices on students, families, and colleagues, and I adjust my practice based on evidence of student learning. I learn from professional communities, research, and ongoing training to strengthen my teaching and uphold ethical, student-centered practice.
Standard #10: Leadership and Collaboration
I take responsibility for supporting student learning by collaborating with families, colleagues, and the community. I communicate openly with parents, work closely with fellow educators, and contribute positively to the school environment. I value teamwork and use collaborative relationships to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
